City of Mati- The Davao Oriental Alliance for Integrated Media (DOAFIM) and the Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) organized an Advance Journalism and Video Documentary Training with Integration on Media Ethics last October 27-28 at the RIC Building for the media practitioners, LGU-Mati Program implementers and DOSCST students and faculty.
The training aimed to equipped media practitioners and would be influencers the core values of journalism.
The output of the training was 3 minute video documentary wherein their subject is the GreenCom Program of the LGU Mati.
Group 1 is Bidlisiw Production and their documentary was entitled Napuslang Sinalikway. The documentary focuses on solid waste management as benefit of the implementing the GreenCom Program. They won the best Video Documentary and Best Videography staring Milagrosa Garo.
The Group 2 was Power Puff Girls Files and their video documentary was entitled Naay Kita sa Gamayng Yuta. The story focuses on income and savings as benefits of the GreenCom Program. The group won 2nd Place for Best Documentary Staring Teresita Rodriguez together with her family.
The Group 3 is the Mati wonders and their video documentary was entitled Nataran wherein it focuses more on GreenCom Program as climate change mitigation. The group won 3rd Place in Best Documentary, Best Story and Best Script staring Marissa Bajay.
DOAFIM President Rocky Silverio said that, they already signed a Memorandum of Agreement with DOSCST. Their partnership with DOSCST a includes media tour for their students and media practitioners and also monthly press conference to be held at the institution. He added that DOAFIM will also be the training ground for their Development Communication students to experience tri-media firsthand.
